Mail Room Doors (Concrete)
Singapore
Design calculations were provided for blast doors used in JTC summit. One single-leaf door and one double-leaf door were checked. Both doors were reinforced concrete structures which were designed to resist a peak reflective overpressure of 780kPa and an impulse of 580kPa.ms.
The blast design was based on the Unified Facilities Criteria of Department of Defense of USA (UFC 3-340-02, Superseding TM 5-1300) “Structures to Resist the Effects of Accidental Explosions”.
Aircraft Shelter Sliding Door (Steel and Concrete Composite)
Egypt
Preliminary blast design was provided for 2 sets aircraft shelter sliding doors which were subjected to 500Kg GP Bomb with standards-off distance of 15m. Blast overpressure and door sizes were determined based on TM 5-1300 “Structures to Resist the Effects of Accidental Explosions”.
Transmission Centre Doors (Steel and Concrete Composite)
Singapore
Preliminary blast design was provided for single and double leaf doors of a radio transmission centre. The doors were designed against 1kg TNT which was located at the center of door with separation of 0.1m. Blast overpressure and door sizes were determined based on TM 5-1300 “Structures to Resist the Effects of Accidental Explosions”, and MHA Guidelines for Enhancing Building Security in Singapore.
